Safeguarding
Their wellbeing. Every voice heard.
DACKS sporting hub is designed for sporting communities, including schools and colleges. Young people can speak up easily, the right adults are told quickly, and private information stays private. It supports each school or college's safeguarding policy and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). It doesn't replace them.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. Young people can call Childline free on 0800 1111. Adults worried about a child can call the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000.
Support for your safeguarding lead
Clubs can appoint a safeguarding officer. Authorised welfare staff and admins can review concerns in a private inbox.
Report a concern in two taps
Every player and staff member has a Report a concern button. It goes privately to the club's safeguarding lead.
Safeguarding leads alerted instantly
Welfare staff get an alert as soon as a concern is raised, and urgent ones are flagged. Each concern is tracked until it's closed.
Speak up anonymously
Players can also raise worries with no name attached, and choose who receives them.
Role-based access
Coaches, S&C, physio and welfare staff only see what their job needs. Coaching access alone does not grant access to safeguarding concerns.
Medical details protected
Full medical notes stay with medical staff. Coaches only see availability and restrictions the physio has approved.
Each club sealed off
Every club's players, staff and records are kept separate. No one can see another club's information.
Messages don't linger
Chats delete automatically after 20 days, and only the people in a staff conversation can read it.
Private by default
Team selections stay private until announced, and files, photos and videos are limited to their own club.
How a concern is handled
- Step 1A player or staff member taps Report a concern and says what's happening.
- Step 2The club's safeguarding lead and welfare staff are alerted straight away. Urgent concerns are marked clearly.
- Step 3The lead reviews it, keeps private notes and refers to the DSL or outside agencies if needed.
- Step 4Every step is recorded with a status, so nothing gets lost and the person who raised it can see it's being handled.
